From an early age, I have been fascinated by architecture and the built environment. During secondary school, my interests already gravitated toward technology and research, with physics and mathematics aligning well with my analytical way of thinking.
After completing secondary education, I studied Building Engineering at HAN University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem. The strong focus on technical development and construction knowledge provided a solid foundation for my Master’s degree in Architecture at Delft University of Technology. In my projects, I consciously integrate this technical background to create realistic and well-founded designs, in which construction methods, materiality, and detailing are an integral part of the design process.
The combination of practical construction knowledge and the conceptual, design-oriented skills I developed in Delft has significantly shaped my learning process. During my studies, I further expanded my design toolkit, actively exploring a diverse mix of digital and physical media within my projects. Research and contextual relevance always take priority in my work, outweighing purely aesthetic considerations.
Throughout my architectural education, I developed a strong interest in utilitarian and public architecture. The cultural relevance, functionality, and intensive use of these buildings inspire me deeply. To me, they represent the clearest example of how architecture can meaningfully contribute to and improve everyday life.
